Entry 000 · July 2026

The lab is open.

Somewhere on Reddit right now, someone is asking the same question that gets asked every single day: “Is anyone actually making money with AI — or is it all courses about making money with AI?”

The replies are always the same. A few people say it's all a scam. A few say they're making thousands, then end with “DM me and I'll send you the workflow.” And the thread dies without a single number in it.

This site is my answer to that thread.

What happens here

I run one experiment at a time: an AI side hustle, an automation, a money workflow — the things YouTube thumbnails promise and never prove. Each experiment gets a fixed budget of money and hours. When it ends, I publish everything: revenue, costs, time, what broke, and the complete workflow, pasted in full. Not a teaser. Not a funnel. The actual thing.

The rules

1. Real numbers or nothing. If an experiment loses money, that's the write-up. Failed experiments are data, and this niche is starving for data.

2. Nothing gated that matters. The full workflow is always in the post. The free Lab Notebook just collects everything in one living document so you don't have to scroll.

3. Tested before recommended. Tools only enter the stack by surviving an experiment. Affiliate links fund the lab; they never change a verdict.

Experiment 001

First up: I pulled the seven most-recommended “make money with AI” side hustles off Reddit — the ones repeated in every thread — and I'm running all seven with the same effort budget. Same hours, same starting money, no audience advantage. When it's done, you'll see exactly what each one paid, down to the dollar.

The results land on YouTube and in the Notebook first. If you want to watch the bet play out — one person, an AI stack, building in public — the Notebook is free.
